Disaster Planning
Don't be caught off guard. Disasters can strike at any time. Louisiana is particularly unique, in that not only do we have to worry about fires, floods, thunderstorms, and tornados, but we are also faced with the prospect of hurricanes. As we learned first hand in Baton Rouge, hurricanes Gustav and Katrina, caused a tremendous amount of damage to buildings and infrastructure. There were areas of the Parish without electricity for weeks.
Let us assist you in creating a comprehensive disaster plan. A comprehensive plan for your business should include:
- Life Safety - evacuations plans for your employees and their families
- Identification of Critical Services, Operations, and Products - identify the impact of a potential disaster the need for backup systems, i.e. electricity, gas, payroll, human resources
- Communications - determine how and where information will be distributed to employees, customers, vendors, i.e. call down lists, public statements, Internet, use of satellite phones and Internet
- Identify the need for preposition contracts - i.e. fuel delivery for your generator(s), temporary office space
- Determine the Risks and how your Plan will be executed.
